Stirling University is a campus university - meaning it is safe, private and has stunning facilities. It is based around a loch and everywhere on site is walkable. Young people will stay on-site in student accommodation, and eat meals in the student cafeteria/dining hall and all activities are on-site (except for pre-arranged trips).
The university accommodation is student flats - 10 young people will share a flat (single-gendered), with 2 staff members. Each young person will have their own room and have a shared kitchen & living area. The staff members will be on hand to supervise and support the young people and it will be a fantastic way for young people to be more independent and sample university life.
A campus university is a university where the facilities are away from a town or city. Stirling Univerity's campus is picturesque - it is based around a loch, surrounded by beautiful woodland. We visited many universities around the UK and as soon as we visited Stirling, we knew we had found the home of The Teen Leadership Challenge!
Of course - young people on The Teen Leadership Challenge will be fully supervised, looked after & supported by our caring & experienced staff. Our staff will be around the young people, running activities and guiding them throughout their stay.
There will be two 'siesta periods' in the afternoon (that are around one hour each) where young people will be given the independence to go grab a coffee at the on-site cafe, have a game of footy, grab a snack from the on-site shop or hang out with friends. As it is a campus university, everything is in close walking distance and young people can only go to pre-arranged places. We will always make sure young people are safe, looked after and supported and for the vast majority of their time, they will be around our staff.
For International participants, Edinburgh Airport is the closest Airport
