#1 Camp Cooper is a Family Business
A Family Business
We are a family business—well, it's really more of a family lifestyle! We started Camp Cooper & The Teen Leadership Challenge because we love summer camp and know firsthand the positive impact it can have on young people's lives. However, since the beginning, it has been much more than a business or job to us.
Planning The Teen Leadership Challenge
We spend 12 months of the year thinking about our Camps and working hard to make sure they're the best possible experience for our young people. We plan all our activities in advance, write curriculums, facilitate a week-long staff training for our staff, and make sure everything is planned out so we can have an amazing programme in place for young people. All of our activities are intentionally planned - to create beneficial outcomes for young people to be better leaders and have the confidence to use their skills in the outside world.
Our Special Environment
The Teen Leadership Challenge accepts only 75 young people at a time (with 25 staff). We get to know each young person individually - we know which young people are away from home for the first time, and who needs a bit of extra support. We have created a positive atmosphere where every young person & staff member feels included and a valued part of the programme.
