#4 Our Activities
Our Activities
Our activities are carefully split into three categories - elective challenges, team challenges and event challenges. The reason we do this is to give young people the chance to focus their time on activities they are interested in (Elective Challenges), they get the chance to try completely new and different challenges that will develop their leadership skills (Team Challenge), and give young people the chance to take part in our special events (Event Challenge)
Elective Challenges
Young People get to create their own personalised schedule by picking one elective per week to specialise in. Our professionally-led electives include:
The Team Challenge
The Team Challenge is at the heart of the Teen Leadership Challenge. Young people are placed into teams of around 10 young people and they are given unique & exciting challenges to complete.
The activities are facilitated by our staff and the teams will work together to complete the challenges and in doing so will develop leadership skills. team-working skills and try new & exciting activities.
Our hands-on learning environment allows young people to develop strong leadership skills while putting their new skills into practice on a daily basis.
The Event Challenge
Evening and weekends bring the whole Camp together for Camp-wide special events. Often the highlights of the summer, our special events promise to be fun, exciting and an experience to remember for years to come. Examples include Hawaiian luaus, talent shows, dances, music festivals, colour wars and camp-fires.
Day Trips
Day trips are designed to introduce young people to Scottish culture and Scotland's vibrant cities & breath-taking scenery. They are supervised by our Camp staff and will ensure campers learn and explore Scotland. Examples of trips include Edinburgh, Glasgow and St. Andrews.
